Let the holiday fun begin!

Now that Thanksgiving has past and it is finally December, I can allow myself to get excited about winter and the upcoming holiday. I am one of those people who cringes when they see holiday decorations for sale in stores before Thanksgiving. I applaud stores like Nordstrom that refuse to decorate before Thanksgiving has been celebrated. This year, I am looking forward to stuffing my face with Christmas cookies and continuing my favorite holiday traditions. Bust out the holiday tunes, it is that time of year again! :)

The Food & Drink category on Pinterest can by a dangerous place if your self control is feeling weak. Lately, I have been drawn to recipes that center around fresh vegetables. I have reached the point in the semester where the though of eating another grilled item from the dining hall makes me want to vomit. The recipes below add a fun, new, spicy way to eat your veggies. So, who wants to whip one of these up for me? ;)

Lorde

I am so obsessed with this girl right now. Ella Yelich-O'Connor, who goes by the stage name Lorde, dropped her debut album at the end of September. She is the youngest person to hold the number one spot on the Billboard Hot 100 in 17 years (she is 16!). Her single, Royals, was a huge hit in my house over the summer. If you haven't heard her music, I definitely recommend checking it out. 

Zara Picks

Above are my most current, favorite looks from Zara. I am so ready for the change in season. I am desperate to start layering and wearing darker colors again.

1. I love the elegance of the white blouse paired with the edgy zipper detailing on the pants.

2. The black lace down the arm adds a bit of excitement to a basic gray cardigan.

3. I love love love that burgundy zip-up. Burgundy is my second favorite color to wear behind black.

4. Last year, I became obsessed with coats that cover my bottom. I like being able to sit down and not worry about my back showing. 

5. I love the versatility of the T. It can easily be dressed up or worn on casual occasions.

6. All black. Need I say more?

These infographic charts by Pop Cart Lab are worth checking out. How cute is the glasses print? It is interesting to see so many styles that I know and love all lined up. I definitely need that Great Gatsby print in my life... What a great idea! I love the simplicity and the story it tells.

A Lot of Lovely: Lady Noel Designs

I recently stumbled across Lauren Noel's Instagram account. Samples of her artwork immediately caught my attention. I love the vibrant colors and whimsical strokes. My favorite piece is definitely the multiple flamingos. I would love a small print out of it to add to a collage wall. You can find more of her work at her Etsy shop (Ladynoeldesigns).

The Cronut

I have been dying to try a cronut for quite a while now. For those of you who do not know what a cronut is... a cronut is a mix between a croissant and donut. All that deliciousness was created by Dominique Ansel this past spring in New York City. From what I've seen on Instagram and twitter, these things are a hot commodity. People line up at the crack of dawn to secure one of the 200 cronuts made by Mr. Ansel each day. I have read that people have sold their cronut for $40 on the internet! Yesterday, I reached an all time high in my need to try a cronut. The Madison Square Park Shake Shack and Dominique Ansel teamed up to make cronut concretes. Like, come on! I can only imagine what that does to your taste buds. Unfortuantely, I am a long way away from NYC, so I'll have to keep dreaming of when I get to try a cronut for the first time.

Laure de Sagazan's wedding dresses continue to amaze me. Each dress is so unique. I love the elegance and simplicity of the gowns. Absolute perfection. And could these photos be any more amazing?!

Rain, Rain Go Away

I have just about had it with the weather. It has been cold, rainy and overcast for the past three weeks- definitely does not feel like summer! I am currently all bundled up in bed (I may or may not be eating Nutella out of the jar...). It is so hard to get motivated!

1. I love this cute coat from target. It's a great color and provides some protection from the elements.

2. I am quickly running out of indoor activities. I think I might try to make these cute bracelets I found on Pinterest.

3. Definitely need this reminder right now.. so hard staying motivated.

4. These cheery cups make me so happy- perfect for a day like today.

5. I think I might do a little baking today- these cookies look delicious!

6. A must with all this unpredictable weather. This color makes me so happy!

Maxi Skirt Obsession

I am in love with maxi skirts! Unfortunately, I have not been able to find one that is just right for me. I have searched high and low, but continue to strikeout. I have my fingers crossed that this is the summer! I love all of the different looks that can be created with a maxi skirt- casual, glamorous, spunky... style and comfort all in one!
