Happy Birthday, Leo!

Happy Birthday to my first celebrity crush! I saw Titanic for the first time in theaters when I was 5-years-old (what the heck, mom?!). From then on, Titanic was my favorite movie. I got the the Heart of the Ocean necklace for my 6th birthday and never took it off. I was Rose and Leo was my Jack. Gosh, he is dreaaaammyyyy!

Introducing: A little bit of everything

There are days when I feel like I absorb more valuable information from the Internet than from four hours in a classroom. This is painful considering how much I am paying for a degree... (I am constantly repeating in my head "it is worth it, it is worth it"). But, to be honest with myself, I usually end up prowling the Internet while procrastinating on homework for those classes, so maybe, the classes are indirectly contributing to my independent learning. This is getting complicated... Basically, I am planning to create a weekly post with links to things that have recently caught my attention. Enjoy!

Shake Shack is officially open!

Let the holiday commercials begin! I think this one for John Lewis is absolutely adorable.

Astronauts working at the International Space Station created a water bubble this past summer. The video released last week shows astronauts submerging a GoPro camera in the water bubble. One of those you have to see to believe!

Have you seen the holiday cookies made with essential oils over at it's the little things?

I am definitely going to make these cool lights over winter break!

A Lot of Lovely: Lady Noel Designs

I wrote about Lady Noel Designs a year agoHer last designs were whimsical paintings of animals that utilized bright colors and large brush strokes. I revisited her site to see what she was up to and was pleased with what I found. Her latest work has an image of a woman as the subject. My favorite painting below is the one with great use of color blocking. My eye is drawn to the strong contrast in colors and the vibrant pop of pink. The painting with strawberries dancing around the woman's head is definitely my second favorite. I love that the woman's hair looks like a mountain of cotton candy. If this painting every becomes more well known, I will definitely dress as it for Halloween.

Ever After on Netflix

This weekend was a mellow one for me. I enjoyed the company of friends and catching up on sleep. A highlight from my weekend was watching the movie Ever After (available on Netflix). I forgot how much I love that movie! When I was younger, people told me I looked like Drew Barrymore, so naturally, I was obsessed with her. Once I found out Drew Barrymore's character's name was Danielle and she was "Cinderella", I instantly became obsessed with the movie. There was definitely a point when I thought the movie was about me... The costumes are gorgeous, Prince Charming isn't hard on the eyes and Anjelica Huston is the evil stepmother. Perfection. Watch it before it is gone!

Recipes to Try

Now that it is dark by 5 p.m., all I want to do is curl up on the couch and putz on projects I can't seem to complete during the warmer months. I am definitely putting the three dishes above on my winter recipe list! I am just coming in from outside and that tomato soup and grilled cheese sounds soooo good right now (anyone want to run to the store for me?). I am sure those apple cider waffles are dangerously delicious... I can't wait to try them. Happy cooking!

A Little Pick-Me-Up

The holidays are upon us, which also means classes are getting intense. This is usually the time I need extra motivation the most. I stumbled upon this print above on Pinterest and really connected with it. I could use this reminder everyday!

This time of year...

Fall is without a doubt my favorite time of year. As we creep further into November, I start holding on to everything that symbolizes fall to me. Halloween has come and gone and that cold winter chill is knocking at the door. Please, fall, don't go!
